Aquatiki
For over 15 years, the Aquatiki had specialized in scuba diving cruises. Their most popular scuba cruise is the 8 night cruise departing from Fakarava and including Kauehi and Toau (all part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve).
The Aquatiki II is a 60’ catamaran with 5 cabins.
A maximum of 8 divers ensures optimum comfort. A minimum of 2 passengers guarantees departure.
You’ll find 2 Double Cabins, 1 Twin Cabin and 1 spacious VIP Cabin, along with the Skipper’s Cabin. The boat is strictly non-smoking!
On-board, there is a large dining quarter and a reading lounge near the bar where fantastic cocktails are served every night. There’s an outdoor cockpit - sheltered from the sun by a large awning - where all meals are served. There’s even an outdoor grill for evening BBQ’s. The sun & views can also be enjoyed from the two trampolines at the bow. The professional crew of three includes a hostess responsible for meals & service; a professional skipper and an professional diving instructor.
The Aquatiki II has been designed & built specially for diving in the Tuamotu archipelago. You’ll be dropped off at the dive sites via an 18’ RIB. The dive instructor leads the dives, while the skipper provides continuous surface monitoring during drift dives. Two long dives are organized each day. The most interesting dives happen during the incoming current. As such divers must be comfortable in currents. It is recommended divers possess a PADI Advanced Open Water certification or higher.
The sea life you can expect to encounter within the passes is abundant and varied. You'll always meet huge schools of sharks - mostly grey reef sharks, but also white tip, black tip, nurse, hammerheads and sometimes tiger sharks. Also expect to see plenty of barracudas, and bonitos as well as sting rays, eagle rays, manta rays and napoleon wrasses. You also have the opportunity to see dolphins and various species of fish including: bigeye snapper, goatfish, emperor angelfish, groupers and moray eels. Depending on the time of the year, you may witness humpback whales migrating or groupers mating.
Nitrox available for a supplemental fee.
